Synthetaic

Synthetaic, founded in 2019 and now known as RAIC Labs, focuses on providing AI solutions that enable non-technical teams to build and run classification and detection models in minutes without the need for labeled data. Their flagship product, RAIC (Rapid Automatic Image Categorization), is an end-to-end AI pipeline that automates the analysis of large, unstructured datasets. RAIC can ingest, search, and categorize data, build and train models, run inference, and integrate through APIs. It offers Quick Train for time-critical use cases and Deep Train for high-accuracy models. RAIC can handle various types of data, including geospatial data, image data, and full-motion video, and can be integrated into current workflows through cloud-hosted APIs. This tool has been used for AI prototyping, geospatial analysis, drone-based monitoring, content moderation, and video security, among other applications. Synthetaic’s mission includes projects aimed at positively impacting the world through its AI for Impact program, which seeks to diminish barriers to traditional AI technologies. The company has collaborated with organizations like the Air Force and National Geographic and has been involved in projects such as saving the Sumatran Rhino and tracking Chinese spy balloons. Synthetaic has raised $15 million in Series B funding and $13 million in Series A funding led by Lupa Systems. They also have a strategic partnership with Microsoft. Notably, RAIC has helped scientists discover Hawaiian seabirds thought to be extinct, showcasing its potential in scientific research and conservation efforts.
