Kitekraft

Kitekraft, formerly known as kiteKRAFT, is an industrials company located in Munich, Germany, specializing in the energy sub-industry. Founded by Florian Bauer during his PhD research at the Technical University of Munich, the company has a team of six and operates primarily within Germany and Europe. Kitekraft’s technology, which includes a tethered electric aircraft equipped with eight onboard wind turbines, autonomously flies in figure eights to generate electrical energy efficiently. Their systems require significantly fewer construction materials and are less costly compared to conventional wind turbines. The company has made significant strides in its development, including connecting its test site to Germany’s public electricity grid and completing successful test campaigns in wind tunnels. Kitekraft has received funding from several prestigious sources, including the European Union’s Horizon Europe program and has been recognized with multiple awards for its contributions to climate change technology and digitization. Additionally, Kitekraft is a member of various institutions and associations such as Airborne Wind Europe and the GreenTech Alliance, and has been accepted into the RESPOND accelerator and Y Combinator’s S19 batch.
