Founded in December 2017 and based in Riga, Latvia, Aerones operates within the industrials sector, focusing specifically on the drones sub-industry. The company has developed a robotic system designed for the maintenance of wind turbine blades, capable of performing a variety of tasks including lightning conductivity testing, high-resolution inspection, drainage hole cleaning, general cleaning, painting, and leading-edge repair. Aerones’ innovative approach replaces traditional maintenance methods with robotics, enhancing safety, speed, and efficiency. The company’s technology has been certified by notable organizations such as GWO, TÜV NORD, and holds ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 certifications. Since its inception, Aerones has serviced over 8,000 turbines and 24,000 blades and caters to major wind power operators like NextEra, GE, Vestas, Enel, and Siemens Gamesa, covering more than 50% of the global wind power capacity. Aerones was part of the Y Combinator W18 batch and currently employs a team of 25, with operations extending to 27 countries across Europe and Latvia.
