Heimdal Company Information

Heimdal, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, is an industrials company specializing in climate solutions with a focus on Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. With a team of 10 employees, Heimdal operates under the legislative environment of the United States, where a tax credit is available for each tonne of CO2 removed via DAC until 2032. The company’s strategic aim is to capture CO2 profitably in the U.S. by utilizing these tax credits. Heimdal has constructed a pilot facility in Hawaii that captures almost 40 tons of CO2 annually using renewable energy sources. Additionally, they are developing a commercial demonstration facility in Oklahoma, named Project Bantam, which is projected to capture more than 5,000 tons of CO2 per year, with plans to expand this capacity to 7,000 tons annually, potentially making it the world’s largest DAC facility. Supported by investors like Sam Altman, Marc Benioff, and Yishan Wong, and organizations such as Y Combinator, MetaPlanet, and Cathexis Ventures, Heimdal is also in partnership with CapturePoint LLC. This collaboration focuses on the development of Project Bantam at CapturePoint’s Oklahoma Carbon Hub, which includes the construction of Class VI CO2 injection wells and carbon storage centers across the U.S. The groundbreaking for this carbon management center is scheduled for early 2024, as Heimdal plans to upscale its DAC capabilities to hundreds of kilotons, and eventually megatons, before 2030.
