BharatPe

BharatPe, established in 2018, aims to create a comprehensive FinTech platform for offline merchants and small businesses. The company offers a range of user-friendly and secure financial products, including payment solutions and business loans. BharatPe serves an extensive network of over 13 million merchants in more than 450 cities across India. The company processes an annualized Transaction Processed Value exceeding Rs. 1.7 Lac Crores and has facilitated loan disbursements totaling over Rs. 14,600 crores in collaboration with NBFCs. BharatPe’s swipe business handles payments of over Rs. 29,000 crores annually through its machines. The company has raised over US$ 583 million in equity from prominent investors such as Peak XV Partners, Ribbit Capital, Insight Partners, and Tiger Global, among others.

In June 2021, BharatPe acquired PAYBACK India, which was rebranded to Zillion in 2023. Later that year, a consortium including BharatPe and Centrum Financial Services Limited received a Small Finance Bank (SFB) license from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). BharatPe expanded into the consumer fintech market with the launch of postpe in October 2021. In January 2023, Resilient Payments Pvt Ltd, a BharatPe Group Company, received preliminary approval from the RBI to operate as an online payment aggregator. BharatPe also promotes Trillionloans, an NBFC registered with the RBI.

BharatPe introduced BharatPe One, India’s first all-in-one payment product that integrates POS, QR, and speaker functionalities into a single device. BharatPe One supports various payment methods, including dynamic and static QR codes, tap-and-pay, and traditional card payments. The device features a high-definition touchscreen display, 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and operates on the latest Android system. It provides real-time transaction updates and instant voice payment confirmations, ensuring a seamless transaction experience for merchants and customers. BharatPe One is set to launch in over 100 cities initially, with plans to expand to more than 450 cities within six months.
