Velvet is an AI-first SQL editor tailored for product and engineering teams at high-growth startups. It allows users to query their production data using an AI SQL editor that supports natural language questions to automate SQL and return live data. Velvet enables collaboration on analytics and feature development by providing a collaborative workspace where teams can build iterative queries and turn them into tables, graphs, and alerts for team use. The platform supports connecting to a wide range of databases and third-party data sources, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Snowflake, S3, Stripe, and many others. The platform ensures secure database connections through a partnership with Noble IP for first-party static IP addresses and encrypts database credentials using pgsodium’s Transparent Column Encryption (TCE) with Postgres.
