Pacific Ag's History
Founded in 1998, Pacific Ag has grown to become North America's largest crop residue harvest and supply company. Initially focusing on developing and operating commercial-scale crop residue and hay forage supply chains, the company expanded its operations nationwide in 2010. Headquartered in Hermiston, Oregon, with divisions in Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Minnesota, Pacific Ag has built a national footprint that ensures consistent quality, cost, and quantity in supply. The company's early commitment to developing sustainable agricultural feedstock supply chains has set it apart as a leader in the bioenergy sector.
Pacific Ag's Services
Pacific Ag offers a comprehensive suite of services, including harvesting solutions that improve return per acre while maintaining soil productivity. They provide supply chain solutions for both export and domestic markets, serving a variety of industries such as animal protein and commercial mushroom production. Through Pacific Ag Logistics and their proprietary PowerStock ProTM system, the company efficiently manages the movement of harvested products from fields to market destinations. This system integrates grower contracting, relationship management, equipment operations, inventory storage, and management, along with robust reporting capabilities for both growers and end-use customers.
Pacific Ag's Role in Bioenergy
Pacific Ag has been instrumental in supporting bioenergy production by developing and operating sustainable agricultural feedstock supply chains. Their subsidiary, Pacific Ag Renewables, focuses on building bioconversion projects aimed at producing low carbon fuels and other renewable products. The company is actively engaged in decarbonizing the economy by replacing fossil fuel inputs with renewable farm feedstocks. Currently, up to five large-scale renewable natural gas plants are under development, which will recycle farm wastes into renewable energy, further bolstering their commitment to sustainability.
Pacific Ag's Innovations
One of Pacific Ag's notable innovations is the co-development of the first suite of integrated crop residue pulping to molded fiber production facilities. This initiative aims to produce tree-free pulp for paper, packaging, and building materials, highlighting the company's dedication to sustainable alternatives to traditional fossil fuel-based products. Additionally, Pacific Ag's first commercial projects under Pacific Ag Renewables are set to produce renewable natural gas, showcasing their forward-thinking approach in renewable energy production and sustainable agricultural practices.
Pacific Ag's Fleet and Operations
Pacific Ag operates the largest fleet of harvest equipment in the United States, allowing them to manage extensive harvesting operations effectively. This capability ensures that they can meet the high demands of their national footprint, providing consistent quality, cost, and quantity in supply. Their PowerStock ProTM system enhances operational efficiency by combining various aspects of the supply chain, from grower contracting to inventory management. This integrated approach ensures that Pacific Ag can deliver reliable and sustainable solutions to their diverse customer base across multiple industries.
