Ubilite is a fabless semiconductor company specializing in the development of ultra-low power Wi-Fi chips for IoT connectivity. Their innovative solutions offer the world’s lowest peak power consumption for Wi-Fi, comparable to Bluetooth Low Energy, making them ideal for power- and energy-constrained IoT applications. Ubilite’s flagship product, the UBI206 System-on-a-Chip (SoC), delivers robust 802.11 b/g/n connectivity with a power consumption of just 28 mW in transmit mode and 22 mW in receive mode, and as low as 10 uW in Deep Sleep mode. This chip supports a range of security features and interfaces, and its compact dimensions of 2.5mm x 2.5mm make it suitable for a variety of IoT devices, including those powered by coin cell, AA, or AAA batteries, enabling exceptionally long battery life without the need for frequent replacements or recharging. Ubilite’s technology is designed to foster IoT sustainability, potentially saving millions of batteries daily by 2025. The company aims to offer the lowest cost Wi-Fi chips on the market, with their solutions costing four times less than comparable products. Ubilite’s advancements have enabled applications previously considered impossible, such as battery-operated Wi-Fi devices in smart homes. The company has been recognized as a Top Finalist in the LEAP 2024 Rocket Fuel Competition and was a 2018 Red Herring Top 100 North America Winner. Ubilite raised $12 million in its latest financing round in November 2018. Their upcoming products, the UBI210 and UBI210C, are expected to deliver enhanced connectivity and features, with engineering samples available in 2024.
