The Cleveland Foundation Company Information
The Cleveland Foundation has been serving the Greater Cleveland community for over a century, with a mission to enhance the lives of all residents by building community endowment, addressing needs through grantmaking, and providing leadership on key community issues. As of the end of 2022, the foundation’s total assets were $2.8 billion. In the same year, it authorized 5,660 grants totaling $138.5 million and received $145.8 million in new gifts.
The foundation’s new headquarters, located at 6601 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44103, opened in Spring 2023. This facility features the Fred & Laura Ruth Bidwell Exhibition Space, Susanna’s Café by HELP Harvest, and the Steven A. Minter Conference Center, which offers free meeting spaces for nonprofits. Designed to meet LEED Gold certification for green building design, the headquarters aims to achieve LEED Platinum standing.
The Cleveland Foundation supports various program areas, including arts & culture, economic & workforce development, education, environment, leadership development, neighborhood revitalization & engagement, youth development, health & social services. It also has initiatives like the Cleveland Neighborhood Safety Fund, Cleveland Black Futures Fund, and Impact Investing program. The foundation’s Digital Excellence Initiative focuses on building a strong, equitable, and resilient digital community.
Additionally, the Cleveland Foundation has been involved in the revitalization of Cleveland’s Greater University Circle district and co-founded the Evergreen Cooperatives. Its new headquarters is part of a broader community vision to enhance neighborhoods throughout the core city of Cleveland while honoring ongoing placekeeping efforts. The foundation also offers a comprehensive wellness program and benefits such as health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan.
