Refresh Miami

Refresh Miami, established in 2006, is the oldest and largest tech and startup community in Miami, boasting over 16,000 members. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, its mission is to educate, inspire, connect, and grow South Florida’s tech and startup ecosystem. The organization hosts a job board and a tech talent network, and it has a Tech Talent Coalition aimed at creating a sustainable pipeline of skilled tech workers in Miami. This coalition, powered by Miami Tech Works through a $10-million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s Good Jobs Challenge initiative, includes 280 coalition members and 614 available tech jobs. The coalition aims to track 1,000 participants and place over 500 in full-time jobs. Refresh Miami also offers an interactive Miami Tech Dashboard discovery tool that provides key metrics of the tech and startup ecosystem. In 2023, Refresh Miami hosted 14 events and facilitated 177 virtual networking matches. The job board automatically syncs with employers’ career pages or online job listing sites, and the Tech Talent Network helps job seekers find opportunities with local tech companies. Additionally, the Tech Talent Academy focuses on developing technical and collaboration skills through open-source software projects and provides career preparation services and networking opportunities for students. Founding organizations of the Tech Talent Coalition include Miami-Dade County, City of Miami, Miami-Dade Beacon Council, Miami Dade College, and Florida International University.
