Josephine Meissner

Josephine Meissner serves as an Account Executive at Pina Earth, a climate tech startup she founded after completing her PhD in Sustainability Science from LMU Munich. Pina Earth specializes in offering high-quality carbon credits from local forests, aiming to transform pure stands into climate-resilient mixed forests. The company has initiated projects on over 1,000 hectares of forest in Germany and has been backed by Y Combinator, raising a €2.4 million seed funding round. Josephine works closely with local forest owners to evaluate forest health and implement measures to enhance diversity and reduce climate risks. She is committed to sustainable business operations, striving to minimize and further reduce the company’s carbon footprint. Josephine fosters a diverse and inclusive work environment, ensuring that all employee voices are heard and valued. Her work has been validated by TÜV Nord, confirming that Pina Earth’s methods meet the ISO standard 14064-2 requirements. Additionally, Josephine has established partnerships with organizations like Fokus Zukunft and Earthly to scale climate action and develop new climate solutions in Europe. Her early career included a significant traineeship at Kearney and involvement in the Management Team at the Center for Digital Technology and Management, as well as co-founding 180 Degrees Consulting Munich.
