FINOS

FINOS, an umbrella organization under the Linux Foundation, aims to accelerate collaboration and innovation in financial services through the adoption of open source software, standards, and best practices. It provides a trusted, neutral forum for community collaboration by offering an efficient, compliant open source collaboration infrastructure and transparent, community-driven technical governance. FINOS hosts over 50 open source, open standard projects and special interest groups, with contributions from over 2000 contributors. The organization hosts a major industry event, the Open Source in Finance Forum, and offers a Project Sandbox that allows open source projects to host a public runtime environment for easy evaluation, public collaboration, or delivering real-life demo environments. FINOS also provides a shared instance of Legend Studio free-of-charge for shared modeling efforts conducted by community members. Its Common Domain Model (CDM) is a standardized, machine-readable, and machine-executable model representing financial products, trades, and lifecycle events. The FDC3 is an open standard for applications on financial desktops to interoperate and exchange data. The Open RegTech Initiative aims to create open-source solutions for regulatory and compliance issues in financial services. The AI Readiness SIG focuses on developing frameworks and policies for the effective, safe, trustworthy, and compliant deployment of generative AI technologies in financial services. The Accessibility Theme Builder helps designers and developers create design systems compliant with web accessibility standards. TraderX is a sample trading application designed to be a distributed reference application in the financial services domain, and Waltz allows organizations to visualize and define their technology landscape, functioning like a structured Wiki for architecture.
