Fermata Energy, established in 2010, specializes in Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G), Vehicle-to-Building (V2B), and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) bidirectional charging solutions. The company provides a bidirectional DC fast charging platform that enables revenue generation by sending energy stored in an electric vehicle’s (EV) battery back to the grid or building. Fermata Energy develops turnkey V2G, V2B, and V2H solutions, which include site assessment and installation. Their Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) bidirectional charging platform is certified to UL safety standards and has earned a major OEM’s approval for the battery warranty. Fermata Energy was the first company to commercially deploy bidirectional charging systems for light duty vehicles in the U.S. and the first to earn UL 9741 certification globally. It is also the only company in the U.S. to receive Nissan’s approval on its battery warranty. Additionally, Fermata Energy was the first to generate revenue from bidirectional charging for fleet customers. The company supports grid resilience throughout North America and parts of Europe, with key investors including The Carlyle Group, Verizon, and TEPCO.
