Beta Technologies Company Information

Beta Technologies is a company that designs and manufactures the ALIA aircraft platform, which includes both VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) and CTOL (Conventional Take-Off and Landing) configurations. The ALIA aircraft is engineered using first principles of physics to ensure maximum safety and efficiency. It is powered by high-voltage battery packs developed in-house, producing zero operational emissions. The aircraft features a 50-foot wingspan, can carry up to 5 passengers and a pilot, and is optimized for payload and range with high dispatch rates and low maintenance needs. ALIA is designed for versatile missions in all weather conditions, featuring a large rear door and flat floor for rapid loading and unloading, IFR capability, lightning strike protection, inadvertent icing protection, and night flight operations. It supports single pilot operations and has side-by-side seating for easy in-aircraft training and specialized cargo missions. Beta Technologies also designs and produces its own electric propulsion system. The ALIA VTOL enables new point-to-point missions, while the ALIA CTOL is ideal for airport-to-airport missions, maximizing range and payload. Beta Technologies also offers advanced charging solutions, including the Charge Cube, which can charge next-generation electric aircraft and ground-based EVs with a continuous 350 kW power output, charging an ALIA aircraft in just 50 minutes. The Charge Cube is designed to integrate underneath an aircraft wing and offers a touchless experience. The Mini Cube is a self-contained Level 3 DC Fast Charger for use with all CCS vehicles, including aircraft, cars, buses, trucks, and vans. Beta Technologies’ charging network includes 9 publicly accessible electric chargers, with more than 55 sites in permitting or construction, and plans for nearly 150 online by 2025. Their charging systems are interoperable with any electric vehicle that is CCS1 compliant, and their mobile application provides a simple interface for operation and payment collection. Beta Technologies’ headquarters is located at 1150 Airport Drive, South Burlington, Vermont, with additional facilities for flight testing, manufacturing, assembly, charging system manufacturing, production development, flight simulation, government sales, airframe engineering, flight control engineering, and battery development and testing spread across various locations in Vermont, New York, Washington, D.C., Quebec, and North Carolina. Beta Technologies’ ALIA aircraft has completed several significant missions, including a 2,400+ mile cross-country mission, a non-stop 336 nautical mile flight, a demo flight with BLADE in the Greater NYC area, a flight through the New York City Hudson Corridor, participation in a week-long Agile Combat Employment scenario with the Air National Guard, a 1,700 nautical mile mission to deliver an aircraft to the U.S. Air Force’s 413th Test Squadron, a proof-of-concept flight with UPS, and a demo flight with Bristow showcasing its capabilities for cargo, medical, and future passenger services.
