DevColor

DevColor, headquartered in San Francisco, CA, is a non-profit organization established to accelerate the advancement of Black technologists. With a team of 7 members, DevColor operates within the United States and Canada, serving a community of over 600 professional members. The organization offers a flagship peer mentorship program named A*, which has engaged nearly 1,000 leaders. DevColor’s global community reach extends to more than 20,000 individuals across various media outlets. The organization’s mission is to empower Black software engineers to become industry leaders and pioneers, enhancing their access to executive roles and increasing racial equity, representation, and belonging in the tech industry. CEO Rhonda Allen, who has over 12 years of experience in strategy and technology, leads the organization with a focus on strengthening communities and fostering progress toward a more equitable future. DevColor partners with major companies such as Atlassian, Facebook, Google, and Netflix to further its mission. The organization also hosts events, operates a job board, and publishes an annual report to highlight its activities and impacts. Additionally, DevColor’s blog and member stories platform showcase the achievements and contributions of its members, promoting diversity and leadership within the tech field.
