Founded in 2015, the Translational Pulmonary & Immunology Research Center (TPIRC) is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Long Beach, California. TPIRC was established to address the need for advanced, individualized treatment protocols for rare and orphan diseases. Over the years, TPIRC has made significant strides in the fields of food allergies, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, airway inflammatory disorders, and immunodeficiency. By leveraging comprehensive diagnostic tools and patient-driven research, TPIRC has positioned itself at the forefront of medical research and treatment.

TPIRC's B.A.R.I.C. Data Loop

The B.A.R.I.C. Data Loop is an integral component of TPIRC's research methodology. This innovative system was designed to collect, analyze, and streamline patient data to identify treatment outcomes. It offers customized therapeutic treatments and continuously monitors and improves patient care. The data loop begins with the biobank, an Institutional Review Board approved, federally regulated repository of human blood samples and data over time. Advanced biostatistical analysis is then applied to trillions of data points, building a core foundation for understanding disease processes and responses to therapies. Finally, the loop culminates in personalized clinical treatment, where patient data informs individualized care plans.

TPIRC's Infectious Disease Awareness Platform (IDAP)

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, TPIRC developed the Infectious Disease Awareness Platform (IDAP) to safeguard healthcare employees. This platform can also be implemented in schools and universities to ensure safety and reduce transmission risks. IDAP includes health policy consulting, a command center, and testing solutions. These components work together to provide comprehensive safety measures and inform institutional responses to infectious diseases, showcasing TPIRC's commitment to public health and proactive disease management.

TPIRC's Focus Areas and Research Facility

TPIRC focuses on advancing treatment protocols for several critical health issues, including food allergies, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, airway inflammatory disorders, and immunodeficiency. The organization houses the first national food allergy diagnostics laboratory, Foundation Labs. Its research facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and driven by the analysis of over one trillion data points. This allows TPIRC to develop and implement advanced diagnostic and therapeutic methods, pushing the boundaries of medical research and patient care.
