RoadBotics Company Information
RoadBotics by Michelin provides an automated, interactive road assessment platform that leverages artificial intelligence to help governments and engineering firms manage their road networks. Spun out of Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute in 2016, RoadBotics has raised $11.4 million in venture capital and was acquired by the Michelin Group in July 2022. The RoadWay platform allows users to visualize and analyze their entire road network, offering features such as measurement tools, dynamic segmentation, embedded maps, and a Virtual Driver feature. The platform delivers assessment results using a 5-level, color-coded rating system, from 1 (best condition) to 5 (worst condition), and provides point-level, high-definition images with GIS location details and timestamps. RoadBotics’ data can be integrated with other solutions, and the company offers various resources, including a free Road Assessment Guide, case studies, white papers, and web events. The platform supports data collection via smartphones, GoPros, or 360 cameras and includes a dedicated RoadBotics Expert for customer support. Serving over 250 governments and 30 engineering firms in the US and many more worldwide, RoadBotics’ RoadWay platform enables users to make data-driven decisions from their desks by analyzing road imagery and viewing street-adjacent assets.
