Oncoheroes Biosciences is a company committed to advancing new therapies for childhood cancer. Their lead compound, Dovitinib, has received Orphan Drug Designation from the U.S. FDA as a potential treatment for osteosarcoma, and the FDA has approved the initiation of two pediatric oncology clinical trials. Oncoheroes is collaborating with Hopp Children’s Cancer Center Heidelberg (KiTZ) to test Volasertib for efficacy in various pediatric cancers, including Rhabdomyosarcoma. In 2021, Fundación Olivares funded the advancement of Volasertib through a donation campaign. The company aims to become a global leader in delivering new pediatric oncology drugs to patients. Their drug discovery efforts focus on identifying novel precision oncogenic targets and validating new drug combinations. Oncoheroes in-licenses clinical stage or near clinical stage assets with the potential to cure pediatric cancers and partners with the pharmaceutical industry, foundations, and patient associations to support the development of novel therapies. They have developed a proprietary highly-predictive pediatric screening platform at their discovery laboratory in the Barcelona Science Park, which has been validated for medulloblastoma group 3 and aims to scale to other pediatric cancers. Their clinical development strategy includes in-licensing external clinic-ready assets for fast-track regulatory approval. Oncoheroes’ pipeline includes projects for Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma (Volasertib), Osteosarcoma (Dovitinib), and various pediatric solid tumors, neuroblastoma, sarcomas, and CNS tumors (Stenoparib). The company has received funding from multiple foundations, including the National Foundation for Cancer Research, the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, and many others. Oncoheroes is a supporting member of the Coalition Against Childhood Cancer (CAC2) and an associate member of i4KIDS Pediatric Innovation Hub in Barcelona. In 2024, Oncoheroes Biosciences was selected as a finalist for the J.P. Morgan Life Sciences Innovation Summit.
