Kivo Health, formerly known as Kivo Health, Inc., is a healthcare services company based in San Francisco, CA, with a remote team of five members. Specializing in telehealth rehabilitation for chronic lung disease patients, Kivo Health offers an 8-week clinical program designed to be safe, effective, and convenient. The program, co-developed by Stanford University researchers, includes two 90-minute sessions per week led by licensed respiratory therapists and conducted in small groups to facilitate peer support and learning. Patients receive all necessary equipment mailed to their homes and can refer themselves or be referred by clinicians. The program is covered by Medicare and most insurance plans and has been shown to save payers $6,000 per patient. Despite only 3% of eligible patients currently receiving this therapy, those who complete the program report significant improvements in functional capacity, quality of life, and mood, including a 42% decrease in shortness of breath, a 62% reduction in hospital time, and a 23% improvement in walking distance. Kivo Health’s services are available across the United States, America/Canada, and fully remote regions, and they participated in the Y-Combinator W23 batch.
