Gillespie founded Clover Medical, a consulting firm, and is also a principal at startup Origami Surgical. His career includes a tenure as General Manager, North America for a subsidiary of automotive supplier Valeo, and leadership positions in product development at Baxter Healthcare. He holds an MBA in General Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and both a BS in Biomedical Engineering and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University. Gillespie has served on the Industrial Advisory Board for the Boston University Department of Biomedical Engineering. His contributions to the field have been recognized with three Canon Publications Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA), and he is a co-inventor on 24 US patents.
