Wing Venture Capital's Enterprise Tech 30

The Enterprise Tech 30 (ET30) is an annual report presented by Wing Venture Capital that highlights the most promising private companies in the enterprise technology sector. The list is determined by an exclusive, invitation-only group of venture capitalists and heads of corporate development. The 2024 ET30 report underscores the increasing influence of generative AI, with nearly half of the companies on the list having roots in this technology. The list is designed to be institutional, neutral, and inclusive of all company growth stages, providing a comprehensive view of the companies most likely to revolutionize enterprise operations.

Wing Venture Capital's ET30 Methodology

The methodology for the Enterprise Tech 30 involves a rigorous two-phase process. Initially, a candidate list of companies is identified through extensive primary and secondary research. This year's candidate list included 556 companies across various stages: early, mid, late, and giga. The second phase involves assessing and ranking these companies through an institutional investor survey, with 70% of the data signals coming from venture capitalists’ votes on companies outside of their portfolios. This ensures a balanced and unbiased selection process, highlighting the most impactful companies in enterprise technology.

Wing Venture Capital's ET30 Corporate Participants

The corporations participating in the ET30 span a wide range of sectors, including cloud, collaboration, communication, data, developer platform, HR tech, IoT, marketing tech, networking, payment, productivity, security, storage, systems integration, and vertical. Collectively, the 36 corporations involved have completed 154 acquisitions valued at more than $40 billion since January 1, 2022. These corporations have enterprise values ranging from $2 billion to over $1 trillion, making their participation a testament to the credibility and comprehensive nature of the ET30 report.

Wing Venture Capital's Research Process for ET30

Wing Venture Capital employs a meticulous research process to compile the original candidate list for the Enterprise Tech 30. This process includes analyzing companies that received six or more votes in the previous year's ET30, conducting a data science analysis of over 20,000 startups based on the past five years' ET30 results, running multiple queries from PitchBook’s database of venture-backed companies, and engaging in primary research. This comprehensive approach ensures that the ET30 list is reflective of the most innovative and impactful private companies in the enterprise technology sector.
