Central Indiana Corporate Partnership's History

Formed in 1999, the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) was established to foster collaboration among the region's top executives from leading corporations, foundations, and universities. By bringing together thought leaders and decision-makers, CICP aims to drive economic growth and innovation in Central Indiana. Over the years, the organization has expanded its influence through various sector-specific initiatives, all aimed at bolstering the region's economic standing and workforce capabilities.

CICP's Key Initiatives

CICP sponsors five key talent and industry sector initiatives: AgriNovus Indiana, Ascend Indiana, BioCrossroads, Conexus Indiana, and TechPoint. AgriNovus Indiana focuses on the agbioscience economy, spanning food, animal health, plant science, and agtech. Ascend Indiana connects job seekers to career opportunities and provides consulting services to meet high-demand workforce needs. BioCrossroads supports the growth of Indiana’s life sciences sector through investment and collaboration. Conexus Indiana aims to position the state as a leader in advanced manufacturing and logistics. TechPoint drives growth in Indiana’s digital innovation and tech ecosystem.

CICP's Strategic Projects

CICP has spearheaded several strategic projects to drive economic growth and innovation in Central Indiana. Notable among these is the 16 Tech Innovation District, designed to foster economic development and innovation. Another significant project is the Indiana GPS Project, a series of comprehensive reports that provide insights into Indiana’s economy and workforce. These strategic initiatives underscore CICP’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and resilient economic environment in Central Indiana.

Business Equity for Indy

Business Equity for Indy is a partnership formed by CICP and the Indy Chamber aimed at creating a fairer and more inclusive future for Indy’s Black population and other people of color. In 2022, the initiative launched a new framework focusing on People, Procurement, and Policy. This partnership is a critical step towards addressing systemic inequities and promoting diversity and inclusion within the business community in Central Indiana.

CICP's 2022 Achievements

CICP’s 2022 annual report marked a year of significant change, including a transition in leadership. The organization’s initiatives—AgriNovus Indiana, Ascend Indiana, BioCrossroads, Conexus Indiana, and TechPoint—continued to make a positive impact on their respective sectors. The AI in Indiana survey revealed that 55% of respondents had adopted at least one AI capability, with product manufacturing, marketing, sales, and product or service development being the most impacted business functions. Additionally, CICP launched the IN ADVANCE Summit to educate high school and early-in-career talent about advanced industries in Indiana.
