The Center's Comprehensive Services

The Center offers an extensive range of services designed to support the LGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized groups. These include specialized HIV services, community engagement initiatives, inclusive programming, senior services, youth and family support, and recovery support groups. The Center is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment through its various community groups and volunteer opportunities. Each service is tailored to meet the unique needs of its clients, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources and support they require.

Arlene Cooper Community Health Center

The Arlene Cooper Community Health Center is a vital part of The Center, providing fast, free, and comprehensive testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The health center is dedicated to promoting health and wellness in the community, offering gender-affirming services such as hormone therapy and mental health support. Additionally, the health center operates a full-service pharmacy, ensuring that both clinic clients and individuals from the surrounding area have access to essential medications and health supplies.

The Center's Community Engagement and Events

The Center is deeply committed to community engagement, hosting a variety of events and programs throughout the year. Notable events include youth prom, youth Thanksgiving, and Pride for Kids, which provide safe and inclusive spaces for celebration and community building. The Center also offers room rentals at the Robert L. Forbuss Building for community events, seminars, support groups, and private functions. These initiatives help to foster a sense of belonging and connection within the community.

Support for LGBTQIA+ Youth at The Center

The Center runs several programs specifically designed to meet the needs of LGBTQIA+ youth. The QVolution program addresses the mental, social, and developmental needs of LGBTQIA+ and ally youth. The Pivot program offers a 6-week course for LGBTQIA+ youth and their caregivers, providing support and education on LGBTQIA+ identities. Additionally, the Thrive program connects LGBTQIA+ youth to licensed and affirming therapists, offering financial assistance for mental health services. These programs aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for young people to explore their identities and access necessary resources.

The Center's Harm Reduction and Recovery Support

The Center is proactive in its harm reduction efforts, distributing a variety of harm reduction tools through a vending machine. These tools include syringes, hormone kits, first aid supplies, hygiene products, safe sex kits, and Naloxone and Narcan packs to prevent overdose. In addition to harm reduction, The Center offers a variety of recovery support groups, including Alcoholics Anonymous, Crystal Meth Anonymous, and Smart Recovery. These programs provide crucial support for individuals seeking to overcome addiction and maintain their recovery journey.
