Terravion was established in 2013 in San Leandro, California, and quickly became a significant player in the agricultural industry by providing high-quality aerial imagery. As a member of the Y Combinator W14 batch, Terravion distinguished itself by offering the largest volume of aerial imagery for agriculture starting in 2016, surpassing the capabilities of satellites and drones. The company’s imagery supported in-season, comprehensive, and quantitative decision-making for growers, enhancing agricultural productivity and efficiency. Terravion’s service model included not only technical delivery of aerial images but also agronomic support and educational services to ensure growers could fully leverage the imagery data. Additionally, Terravion provided an open API to facilitate easy integration of their services into existing agricultural management systems. Despite its contributions to agricultural technology and a team of 11, Terravion ceased operations and is currently inactive.
