Kurt Hoefer, CFA

Kurt Hoefer is the Chief Strategy Officer and founder of Hoefer Capital Management, LLC, a firm dedicated to providing investment and financial guidance to families and individuals. Prior to founding his company, Hoefer worked as an investment banker at Thomas Weisel Partners and Banc of America Securities, and as an institutional stock analyst at Salomon Brothers. He was also a part of the investment team at Shamrock Capital Partners. Kurt holds an MBA from the UCLA–Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University. He is a CFA® charterholder and was appointed to the Board of the San Mateo County Employee Retirement Association (SamCERA) in September 2016. Residing in Hillsborough with his wife, Melanie, and their two children, Kurt is actively involved in his community as an officer and director of a non-profit supporting educational and cultural institutions. His personal interests include skiing, gardening, walking his dog at Crissy Field, playing the piano, and traveling.
