Hermese Velasquez

Hermese Velasquez serves as the Executive Director in Boston and hails from Belize, Central America. As a first-generation college graduate, Hermese understands the transformative impact of education from personal experience. Hermese’s career includes significant roles at Summer Search, where he was not only a participant during his high school years but also served as Alumni Board Chair and a member of the Summer Search Boston Board of Directors. Prior to his current role, he worked as a Project Manager in the travel industry, where he was known for his results-oriented approach. Hermese possesses a strong skill set that includes data analysis, risk assessment, communication, relationship building, and change management. Outside of his professional life, Hermese is an avid runner, enjoying daily 5Ks in the warmer months while listening to Beyoncé and Whitney Houston’s Greatest Hits. He is also a passionate traveler, having visited at least one new country each year for the past five years, covering five continents. Additionally, Hermese dedicates time to volunteer as a coach for adults reentering college, continuing his commitment to education.
