Maureen MacIsaac serves as a Product Lead at Shepherd, where she has played a pivotal role in advancing construction insurance technology through the introduction of Shepherd AI Compliance. She announced the company’s $13.5M Series A financing, which was led by Costanoa Ventures, emphasizing her leadership in securing substantial funding for growth. Maureen is dedicated to redefining the insurance landscape by integrating insurance offerings with software solutions, specifically designed to aid commercial businesses in managing risks and preventing losses, with an initial focus on the commercial construction industry.

Under her leadership, Shepherd has seen a significant expansion in its operations, supporting nearly 200 offices nationwide that depend on Shepherd for capacity and innovative underwriting solutions. Maureen has been instrumental in the company’s rapid growth, which includes a threefold increase in lead generation and a fivefold growth in Gross Written Premium year-over-year. She has also contributed to broadening Shepherd’s product offerings to encompass all three primary casualty lines. Additionally, Maureen has been involved in the development and launch of Shepherd Compliance, a complimentary software platform that helps policyholders manage third-party compliance. Her efforts in leveraging AI technology have streamlined data extraction from PDFs and automated review processes for Shepherd’s customers. Furthermore, Maureen has engaged in developing a full-stack solution that allows for the underwriting of insurance products in minutes and has been part of initiatives to integrate top-tier third-party resources through Shepherd’s marketplace. Looking ahead, she plans to significantly invest in the engineering and underwriting teams in 2024, aiming to launch at least two new insurance products.
