Justin Levine

Justin Levine co-founded Shepherd, a pioneering firm that merges insurance solutions with advanced risk management software, and serves as its CEO. Shepherd is distinguished by its integrations with popular tools and a specially curated app marketplace, targeting primarily the commercial construction industry, which is valued at approximately $10 trillion. Under Levine’s leadership, the company has successfully secured $13.5 million in Series A financing, with contributions from notable investors such as Costanoa Ventures, Intact Ventures, Era Ventures, Greenlight Re, and Spark Capital. Levine leads a diverse team with expertise spanning traditional insurance, construction technology, and financial technology. He has been instrumental in launching Shepherd Compliance, a complimentary software that utilizes AI to streamline the tracking of certificates and endorsements for clients. Looking ahead, Levine plans significant investments in expanding the engineering and underwriting teams in 2024, aiming to launch at least two new insurance products and further develop the risk management software platform. Levine credits much of Shepherd’s success to the synergy between its underwriters and engineers. He operates from the company’s headquarters in San Francisco and its new office in New York City.
