Eduardo Farias

Eduardo Farias, currently serving as the Director of Biology at Serinus Bio, has an extensive background in cancer research, with over 35 years of experience in the field. Before his current role, he was a Professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and played a pivotal role as a founding team member at HiberCell. Throughout his career, Eduardo has successfully advanced two compounds from early discovery through to Phase 2 clinical trials. He has also authored numerous scholarly articles published in top-tier journals and has been an active participant in several review panels and study sections for the NIH/NCI and the Department of Defense. His research expertise encompasses cancer metastasis, minimal residual disease, tumor dormancy, stress biology, epigenetic reprogramming, and the development of complex preclinical systems. Eduardo earned his PhD from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where his thesis was honored with the Best Thesis on Basic Sciences Award. Remarkably, Eduardo began his academic journey in a completely different field, as an oceanologist where he had the unique experience of diving with whales.
