Marella Thorell

Marella Thorell currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Lehigh University. Thorell’s career began at Ernst & Young, LLP, followed by significant roles at Campbell Soup Company where she advanced in finance and human resources. She has held key financial positions in the biotech sector, including Chief Financial Officer of Evelo Biosciences and Realm Therapeutics, as well as Chief Accounting Officer at Centessa Pharmaceuticals. Following the acquisition of Realm Therapeutics by Centessa, she continued to influence the financial strategy in the pharmaceutical industry. Thorell also contributes to corporate governance as a Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of ESSA Pharmaceuticals and was a director of Vallon Pharmaceuticals until its merger in 2023.
