Nestled at Newport’s transportation hub at the entrance to downtown, the aquarium is conveniently accessible by multiple RIPTA routes, including Routes 14, 60, 63, 64, 231 Flex, and hop-on-hop-off routes 67 and 68. The Hamilton Family Aquarium features over a dozen exhibits highlighting the diverse habitats of Narragansett Bay. The aquarium includes interactive elements such as three touch tanks and an augmented reality watershed model. General admission is $15, with discounts for members and seniors, and free entry for children under two.

The Hamilton Family Aquarium was established with support from the Hamilton Family Charitable Trust, replacing the previous Exploration Center and Aquarium on Easton’s Beach, which closed in October 2023. This new, state-of-the-art facility continues the legacy of its predecessor while expanding its educational and interactive offerings. The aquarium's move to a more central location in Newport enhances its visibility and accessibility, allowing it to better serve the community and promote the health and preservation of Narragansett Bay.
