Irene Agodoa

Irene Agodoa currently serves as the Team Lead for Medical Affairs at Orca Bio, a position she has held since 2022. Prior to joining Orca Bio, she was the Vice President of Medical Affairs and Program Team Leader for GBT601 at Global Blood Therapeutics. In this role, she was instrumental in building and providing executive leadership for the medical affairs functions, leading early program development of GBT601, and contributing significantly to the company’s transition from a clinical to a commercial stage. Before her tenure at Global Blood Therapeutics, Agodoa was the Senior Director of Medical Advocacy in Medical Affairs at Sanofi, and held various leadership roles in clinical development, medical affairs, and global value, access, and policy at Amgen for over ten years. She earned her MD from The Ohio State University College of Medicine after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the same institution. Over her career, she has published more than 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals, marking significant contributions to the field of medical science.
