Howard Mergelkamp

Howard Mergelkamp has amassed over two decades of experience in investment banking, private equity, operating roles, and corporate law, with a focus on financial technology, transaction processing, electronic payments, and financial services. He has played a pivotal role as a principal or advisor in over 100 completed deals, handling strategic transactions valued at over $157 billion. Mergelkamp was a founding member of Corporate Ventures and Advisory Services at BlackRock, Inc., where he managed proprietary investments and third-party mergers and acquisitions in financial technology. He also served as a senior vice president at Regulus Group LLC, leading strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring. His earlier career includes working in investment banking at Merrill Lynch & Co., where he concentrated on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance in electronic payments and financial technology sectors. Additionally, Mergelkamp practiced corporate law at prestigious firms such as Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Cravath, Swaine & Moore, focusing on mergers and acquisitions in banking, asset management, insurance, and consumer finance. He holds a BA, cum laude, in political science and economics from Columbia University and a JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
