Dimeji Sofowora

Dimeji Sofowora, serving as the Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer, has played a pivotal role in securing $30 million in Series-B funding for HeliumCredit, a fintech product designed to address the financial challenges in Africa’s healthcare sector. The funding round, led by AXA Investment Managers Alts, also saw participation from Capria Ventures, Angaza Capital, Anne Wojcicki, and Flatworld Partners, along with continued support from existing investors such as Global Ventures, Tencent, Ohara Pharmaceuticals, LCY Group, WTI, and AAIC. HeliumCredit has already extended over $3.5 million in credit to more than 200 healthcare facilities in Nigeria and is planning to launch in Kenya. Sofowora’s strategic vision includes expanding the lending portfolio to 1,000 healthcare facilities by 2024 in partnership with the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. Additionally, he seeks to deepen collaborations within the public health and global health communities, supported by funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and MSD for Mothers for maternal health program strategies. Sofowora is also focused on scaling HeliumOS, a SaaS suite used by over 10,000 health workers to care for more than 1 million patients, addressing the critical need for digital solutions in a region where less than 10% of healthcare facilities are digitized. His efforts underscore a commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery in Africa, where there is a significant financing deficit and a low health worker-to-patient ratio.
