Do Space is a technology library located at the Milton R. Abrahams Branch of Omaha Public Library, 5111 N 90th Street, Omaha, NE 68134. Open to everyone in Omaha, Do Space offers free access to the latest software, devices, and high-speed internet. The library operates Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 8 pm, Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm. It provides a wide range of programs and events at no cost, including job skills classes, STEM-focused educational programs for kids and teens, creative workshops, and technology demonstrations for all ages and skill levels. The facility is equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters, design software, and a podcast studio with the latest recording equipment. Do Space also offers specialized one-on-one technology assistance, a mentor program to help solve specific tech challenges, and a Summer Passport Program that engages Omaha youth in tech-related educational activities. Additionally, Do Space provides video conferencing and interactive video boards in dedicated collaborative spaces, and hosts community events such as speakers, discussion groups, and hackathons. The organization is collaborating with Omaha Public Library, Omaha Public Library Foundation, City of Omaha, and Heritage Omaha to create a world-class central public library for Omaha, set to open in 2026. Do Space’s mission is to empower the community through access to technology and innovative learning experiences, with a vision to inspire Omaha to lead the nation in innovation. The library offers various opportunities for volunteering and contributing to its success. Do Space also runs a Senior Makers Club and Cyber Seniors program sponsored by AARP Nebraska, a Python series for beginners, and a cutting-edge 3D printing service with the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon Printer. The organization received a grant from Google Fiber to support digital equity and technology accessibility in the Omaha community.
