Blair Bateson

Blair Bateson serves as the Director of the Company Network at Ceres, focusing on the banking and energy sectors. In this role, Bateson leads the engagement with these sectors and coordinates the overall banking strategy in partnership with the Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Markets. Bateson is also responsible for authoring influential reports on how banks can incorporate climate change considerations into their strategies, risk management, governance, and disclosure practices. Prior to joining Ceres, Bateson worked in climate change policy research at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, where the focus was on analyzing the efficacy of national climate policies. Bateson’s background also includes significant experience in finance, strategic planning, and investor relations within the energy sector, handling tasks such as economic analysis, benchmarking, and the development and communication of company strategies. Bateson holds an M.A. in Comparative International Studies and a B.Com. in Finance and International Business from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and McGill University in Montreal, respectively. Additionally, Bateson is a certified CFA charterholder.
