Sean Hunt

Sean Hunt, CTO and Co-Founder, has an extensive academic and professional background spanning multiple disciplines. He grew up near the Bioforge and pursued an undergraduate degree in computational neuroscience at Brown University. Hunt furthered his education by obtaining an MD and PhD in cancer biology and enzymology from the University of Texas. His academic excellence continued at MIT, where he earned a PhD in chemical engineering, focusing on renewable energy and green chemical manufacturing on metal catalysts as an NSF graduate research fellow. Over his career, Hunt has authored or co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and patents, including significant papers in prestigious journals like Science, Angewandte Chemie, and Energy and Environmental Science. His notable scientific contribution includes altering the surface properties of tungsten carbide to mimic those of platinum in just seven years. Recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 in Industry and Manufacturing, Hunt currently resides in Houston with his wife and two Pomeranians.
