Richard Jenkins

Richard Jenkins is the founder and CEO of Saildrone, a company specializing in the development of uncrewed vehicles that utilize a patented wing technology to collect high-resolution data from remote ocean areas. Jenkins, who holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London, initially developed this technology over a decade-long project aimed at breaking the land speed record for wind-powered vehicles. He achieved this in 2009, reaching a speed of 126.2 mph in Nevada, USA. Subsequently, he relocated to San Francisco, where he adapted his innovative technology for maritime applications, focusing on environmental monitoring and ocean data collection.
