Michael Gummelt

Michael Gummelt, a Stanford Computer Science alumnus, has made significant contributions to the field of programming languages through his research focused on user interfaces. During his time at Stanford, he was deeply involved in the research traditions of Smalltalk and Lively Web, which influenced his later work. Gummelt is recognized for beginning the design of visual programming systems known as ‘low-code’ while at Stanford.
