Rodrigo Wanderley

Rodrigo Wanderley holds a title in Carbon Development and is actively engaged in the development of technology and finance solutions to facilitate forest carbon projects. His work primarily focuses on native reforestation carbon project development within the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. Wanderley is part of a team responsible for evaluating over 150 forest carbon projects certified by the world’s four largest voluntary carbon registries. He plays a key role in the origination of Pachama Originals projects across Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. Collaborating closely with a team comprising forest scientists, remote sensing scientists, data scientists, and machine learning engineers, Wanderley utilizes proprietary models to assess factors such as historical forest coverage, biomass estimates, and recent canopy loss to evaluate projects effectively. He is also involved in developing new growth models that estimate carbon accumulation under various growing and planting conditions, and engages in sourcing the necessary data to estimate the natural risk and leakage deductions of carbon projects. Furthermore, Wanderley contributes to the development of AI-based tools for dynamic baseline measurement and forest carbon mapping, and collaborates with leading corporates and investors committed to climate action through investments in nature.
