Matt O’Leary

Matt O’Leary has served Ford Motor Company for over 38 years, culminating in his role as Executive Chairman and Interim President. His extensive career at Ford includes retiring as the Vehicle Line Director for North America Trucks, SUVs, and Commercial Vehicles at the end of 2015. O’Leary has a broad range of experience in various capacities, including as the Product Development Director for Ford South America Operations, where he led the development of the all-new EcoSport and Ka global vehicles. He also held the position of Director of Corporate Strategy, where he established a strategic process and plan targeting profitable growth in Asia. Notably, he was the Chief Engineer for the F150/Expedition/Navigator series, during which he oversaw the development of the highly acclaimed 2009 F150, which garnered several awards, including the Motor Trend Truck of the Year and North American Truck of the Year. O’Leary’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan – Dearborn, obtained in 1977, and a Master of Science in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completed in 1995.
