Dr. Shahram Tafazoli

Dr. Shahram Tafazoli, holding the position of Chief of AI, founded Motion Metrics after completing his PhD in Robotics and Intelligent Systems at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees with honors from Sharif University of Technology. As an inventor, Dr. Tafazoli holds numerous patents. He contributes to academia as an adjunct professor in the UBC Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and is an associate member of the Creative Destruction Lab. Beyond academia, he is deeply involved in the technology community as an angel investor in various promising Canadian and international technology start-ups. Dr. Tafazoli also holds significant roles in governance, chairing several boards of directors and serving on advisory boards for multiple technology companies. He is a proponent of lifelong learning, which reflects in his continuous engagement with both educational and professional growth.
