MicroVision Company Information

MicroVision specializes in developing automotive lidar sensors and providing solutions for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, and various non-automotive applications. The company employs over 350 people and operates offices in Redmond, Detroit, Hamburg, and Nuremberg. In January 2023, MicroVision acquired Ibeo Automotive Systems GmbH, enhancing its capabilities and product offerings. The company holds a substantial intellectual property portfolio with 735 issued and pending patents.

MicroVision’s product family includes MAVIN™ N, MOVIA™ L & MOVIA™ S, and the MOSAIK™ Suite. MAVIN™ N offers a customizable, low-profile, one-box solution suitable for automotive OEMs requiring a roofline product. MOVIA™ L & MOVIA™ S are designed to be small, light, and robust, making them ideal for both industrial and automotive applications. The MOSAIK™ Suite supports automated validation of sensors and algorithms, aiding machine learning and AI projects.

In March 2024, MicroVision announced a $150 million at-the-market equity facility to support its growth. The company is actively engaged in high-volume, top-tier global OEM RFQs for passenger vehicles and is expanding its revenue opportunities through direct sales in industrial markets. A partnership with Luxoft aims to enhance ADAS automated testing at scale.

For the first quarter of 2024, MicroVision reported revenue of $1.0 million, primarily from sales of MOVIA sensors to a global commercial trucking OEM, and ended the quarter with $73.1 million in cash and cash equivalents. The company announced these results on May 9, 2024. For the fourth quarter of 2023, MicroVision reported revenue of $5.1 million, driven by a contract with Microsoft.

MicroVision is actively involved in nine automotive RFQs, including some with the largest global OEMs. The integration of Ibeo’s perception software into MAVIN’s custom Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) allows MicroVision to offer both the sensor and perception software, providing a comprehensive lidar and perception software solution. The company also offers various perception interfaces, including object list, lane markings, free space, small obstacle detection, vehicle positioning, and road boundaries.
