Matt Donahue

Matt Donahue, the Founder and CEO of Kodex, has an extensive background that spans various roles in counterterrorism, public safety, and technology development related to law enforcement response. Before establishing Kodex, Donahue worked in Counterterrorism Intelligence for the FBI, where he observed the challenges companies faced in responding securely and efficiently to legal data requests from governments. His career includes significant contributions to major tech companies; he was instrumental in developing content takedown systems, data generation software for records requests, and litigation holds at Pinterest. Donahue also worked on the investigation side of records requests at Palantir and was an engineer on Facebook’s original Law Enforcement Response engineering team, later becoming a founding engineer for Meta’s Law Enforcement Response Portal. His experience extends to public safety, where he led initiatives at Uber before founding Kodex, developing the company’s relationships with law enforcement, intergovernmental organizations, NGOs, and anti-trafficking bodies. Additionally, Donahue spent a decade as a detective focusing on Cyber Crime with the London Metropolitan Police.
