Internet2 operates as a crucial provider for the international research and education community, offering a range of specialized services. It manages the nation’s largest and fastest coast-to-coast research and education network, ensuring high-speed, secure connectivity. The organization supports over 2,000 institutions, including higher education, research entities, government bodies, corporations, and cultural organizations. Internet2’s offerings include eduroam, a secure, world-wide roaming wireless service, and a suite of identity and access management tools through InCommon, which features single sign-on and federated identity services. Additionally, Internet2 provides tailored cloud solutions and services, a cloud-based Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Mitigation Service, and supports the technology of its Internet2 infrastructure portfolio through its Next Generation Infrastructure.
