Dr. Steve Jacobsen

Dr. Steve Jacobsen earned his PhD from the University of Minnesota and completed his postdoctoral studies at the California Institute of Technology. He currently serves as a professor in the Department of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and is an investigator for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dr. Jacobsen has played a crucial role in elucidating the mechanisms of action for several gene silencing pathways in plants. His significant contributions to the field have led to his election to both the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Sciences. He also holds the position of Scientific Co-Founder and SSB Member, reflecting his leadership in scientific research and development.
