Founded in 2000, eMagin has established itself as a leader in the field of active-matrix Organic LED (AM-OLED) Microdisplays on Silicon. Over the past two decades, the company has developed cutting-edge OLED microdisplay technology, extending its influence across military, medical, commercial, and consumer markets. eMagin's Manufacturing and Technology

eMagin's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is located in Hopewell Junction, New York. The facility includes over 42,000 sq. ft of manufacturing space and a 17,000 sq. ft Class 10 clean room, where its industry-leading OLED microdisplays are produced. Utilizing proprietary direct patterning technology (dPd™), eMagin's displays achieve unmatched brightness and superior resolution. This advanced technology uses Red, Green, and Blue emitters to create full-color microdisplays with brightness levels exceeding 28,000 cd/m2. Rigorous quality testing ensures that the displays can withstand environmental extremes, making them suitable for a variety of demanding applications.

eMagin's Product Applications

eMagin’s OLED microdisplays are designed for a wide range of applications, including AR/VR, aircraft helmets, heads-up display systems, thermal scopes, night vision goggles, and future weapon systems. These displays offer several key advantages, such as low power consumption, longer battery life, wide temperature range compatibility, and ultra-high brightness. Their compact and lightweight design, coupled with high contrast and vivid colors, makes them ideal for both consumer and industrial use. eMagin's Achievements and Recognition

eMagin has garnered significant recognition for its technological advancements. Notably, the company won the People’s Choice Award for Best New Technology at SID’s Display Week 2022. In addition to industry accolades, eMagin has secured substantial contracts, such as a $2.5 million US Army contract for an OLED Microdisplay Prototype Project in June 2022, and a $1.7 million order from Collins Aerospace in December 2022. These achievements underscore eMagin's position as a leader in OLED microdisplay technology and its ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence.

eMagin's Research and Development

eMagin places a strong emphasis on research and development, allocating approximately 10% of its revenue to R&D efforts. Around 20% of the company’s staff are dedicated to advancing OLED microdisplay technology, ensuring that eMagin remains at the forefront of innovation. The company holds 83 patents worldwide (44 issued and 39 pending), which protect its proprietary technologies and reinforce its competitive edge. Continuous R&D investment enables eMagin to create displays with superior performance characteristics, such as the recently demonstrated 15,000 cd/m2 full-color WUXGA display using Direct Patterning Display (dPd™) technology.
