Rahul Khara

Rahul Khara currently holds the position of General Counsel. He has an extensive background in legal and compliance roles in the biopharmaceutical industry. Before his current role, he served as Vice President, Legal and Chief Compliance Officer at Acceleron, where he was instrumental in leading the commercial legal and compliance functions. During his tenure at Acceleron, Khara played a key role in supporting the launch of Reblozyl, the company’s first commercial product, and built its commercial compliance program. His efforts contributed significantly to the successful acquisition of Acceleron by Merck. Prior to his time at Acceleron, Khara worked at prominent law firms Arnold & Porter LLP and Sidley Austin LLP, where he assisted biopharma companies in navigating complex legal issues related to clinical development, new drug launches, business transactions, compliance, and enforcement. He holds a Pharm.D. from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
