Dave Grannan

Dave Grannan is a seasoned entrepreneur and executive based in Silicon Valley, known for his leadership in several high-tech companies. He currently serves as a board member for Sense, a climate-tech company that specializes in home energy monitoring, and Sensory, a company focused on speech-recognition technology. Additionally, he is an advisor to Cognii, an educational technology firm. Grannan’s notable past roles include CEO and co-founder of Light, a computational imaging company that was acquired by John Deere, and CEO of Vlingo, which pioneered natural language speech recognition for mobile phones and was a precursor to many modern voice-activated assistants. He also served as the board chairman of Maluuba, an AI-based natural language processing company that was acquired by Microsoft. His earlier career included leadership positions at Nokia and Sprint PCS, and he was the CEO of Geoworks. Before entering the business world, Grannan began his career as an officer in the US Marine Corps. He holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and currently resides in San Francisco.
