Jonathan Smith holds the position of co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Civic. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Prior to co-founding Civic, Smith led technology, innovation, and delivery efforts in some of the most complex and security-sensitive environments, specifically for major players in the investment banking sector. In addition to his role at Civic, he has served as an advisor to numerous blockchain projects, leveraging his deep knowledge of blockchain and banking technologies. His work is driven by a strong passion for cryptocurrencies and token economies, which he integrates with his expertise to advance the technological capabilities of Civic.
